The Green Building Initiative

Raising Money for Berkshire Community Foundation
Berkshire Community Foundation connects local people who care with the causes that need them most across the Royal County of Berkshire. For over 40 years, BCF has represented Berkshire's charities and community causes, giving donors, businesses, families and trusts one trusted route to real, local impact.
Since 1985, BCF has delivered more than £22 million in funding, supporting 154,000 people through 235 community projects in 2025/26 alone.
It's this local impact that's inspired our team to take on the Wolf Run Challenge on 12th September 2026, a muddy obstacle course tackled as one team, to raise funds for BCF's work across Berkshire.
Partnerships and community engagement

Health & Safety
Carney has a wealth of experience delivering complex, large-scale infrastructure and groundworks projects, often in demanding and variable conditions. That has included construction alongside a live railway, working airside at the busiest airport in the UK, and building on the edge of an exposed, ever-changing coastline.
Work like this leaves no room for a casual approach to safety. Our in-house health and safety team monitors and improves on-site procedures continuously, which protects our people and keeps project delivery on track.

Comprehensive Health & Safety Training
A well-trained workforce is what keeps our standards high. Training goes beyond the legal minimum. All operatives complete a thorough induction and continue through a rolling programme of toolbox talks, site-specific briefings and specialist certifications.
That knowledge is what lets people identify hazards early and respond properly when conditions change.
Open communication and reporting
Carney operates an open reporting culture. Site teams are encouraged to raise concerns early, and the in-house health and safety team responds directly. Real-time reporting and investigation feed back into training and site procedures, so the same issue does not recur.
